Since The Flying Irish Studio opened its doors 12 years ago, we have evolved into an Irish dance school emphasizing solid execution and teamwork, a headquarters for a busy performance troupe, and a cultural center for North-Central Massachusetts and New Hampshire's Monadnock region. The Flying Irish Approach We offer the highest-quality alternative to competitive Irish Dance programs, with competitive-level choreography, and a focus on cooperation, stage presence, and the ability to perform innovative and crowd-pleasing routines in a variety of venues. We teach by breaking down steps and movements into easy-to-understand components, (rather than by simply having students copy material). Our method has proven to be successful for a wide variety of learners and learning styles, and provides a solid foundation over the long term. We also stress cross training for injury prevention and because we believe that exposure to other movement forms, such as modern dance and theater, makes for a more complete Irish dancer and a more well-rounded individual. YOGA is offered at the studio, to dancers and non-dancers alike, to help participants stay flexible and healthy and to aid in injury prevention for all sports. The Flying Irish Dance Troupe, the studio's performance group, have performed for the United Nation's Irish Counsel, with The Eileen Ivers Band, Natalie McMaster, at HersheyPark, and more! FIDT is Looking for New Members!!! FIDT placement classes: 2 placement classes will be held for dancers, ages 16 & up, with prior dance experience, who are interested in performance opportunites with The Flying Irish Dance Troupe. These classes will be held on Tuesday, July 21 and 28, from 7:00-8:00 pm. Cost for both classes is $25. Call or email the studio to register.
New Adult Class this fall!!! NEW CLASS!!! Ceiles, Sets & Steps Get a good workout while learning some group dances (ceiles and sets), gain a working knowlege of Irish Dance basics, learn a few steps and have fun! Ages 16 & up, no previous experience necessary. Starting Wednesday nights in September 09. Our "School News" page has all the information you need for fall registration. For the 2nd year in a row, the Flying Irish Studio is LOWERING its prices!
